Finding the right person to talk to can be difficult. Many of us have learned through various life experiences to suffer in silence and deal with problems on our own. It’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind and day-to-day headaches and take on more than we can handle. We may become entangled in hurtful relationships that drain us of whatever energy we feel we have left –without even knowing how we got into them. Or the opposite, feel chronically alone, and hopeless about finding someone to share our life with. We may feel stuck or hindered in careers or place in life, because we cannot imagine any other reality, or see any way to change them.
As if this wasn’t enough to make us feel weighed down, life altering events and loss don’t wait for daily stressors to go away before happening. Oftentimes, like a ripple effect, this stress changes how we see ourselves, our family, and can even affect our work performance. Ultimately, we are left without a sense of direction and are thrown off course.
